Logan Daves was the epitome of consistency for the Fannin County High School Rebels during his football career. He was a starter on both offense and defense for the Rebels during the 2007, 2008 and 2009 seasons. He played the game in the trenches, at guard on offense and at defensive tackle. He was a standout on both sides of the ball, achieving an 85% blocking efficiency rating on offense, coupled with 203 career tackles, including 14 for losses, and two interceptions as icing on the cake. After his senior season of 2009, Logan was named to the all-region team and as his team's most outstanding offensive and defensive lineman. Dennis Wilson, his offensive line coach, said that Logan was "probably the best offensive lineman I've ever coached or seen." Along with fellow Fannin County Hall of Famer Nick Dean, he was selected as co-captain of the 2009 Rebels football team. The highlights of his high school career included a region championship in 2007 and victories over Gilmer County in all four of his high school years. Clark Drennan, who was the head Rebel gridiron coach throughout Logan's career, gives Logan high praise for his leadership, commitment to excellence and performance. Drennan says that Logan worked hard and improved each year throughout high school. Logan's teammate and pal Nick Dean has this to say about his friend: "Logan was a great leader on and off the field and in the weight room. He was extremely humble, yet respectfully feared. He was relatively quiet, but when he spoke, you always listened. His work ethic, drive, passion for the game and presence on the field were unmatched. I always loved running behind him because I knew he was going to do his job and do it well. Logan was one of the best there was and continued his dominance at the next level. Proud of the man he has become and thankful for the memories we made on and off the field." After graduating from Fannin County High School, Logan went on to play on the offensive line for Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. He was a three-year starter for the Eagles and won four varsity letters. He was named to the Sun Belt Conference Honorable Mention team as a senior. His coaches at Georgia Southern praised Logan for his combination of exceptional strength, attention to detail and on-field leadership. He was selected as a team captain for three seasons. Logan Daves graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2015 and then landed a job as offensive line and weight training coach at Calvary Day School in Savannah. He then accepted a position as offensive coordinator at Toombs County High School in Vidalia, where he continues to coach at this time. Logan and his wife Macy met at Georgia Southern, where Macy studied athletic training. They were married in June of 2016. Logan and Macy welcomed their firstborn, Lakin Woodrow Daves, to the family in December 2019. Please welcome Logan Daves to the Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame.
